Heavy snow advisory issued for mountainous areas

A heavy snow advisory was issued for higher elevations as temperatures remained low Thursday.

While atmospheric pressure brought an end to the precipitation, afternoon highs never made it past 5 to 8 degrees, depending on the location.

Thirty-five centimeters of snow fell on Hallasan Mountain’s Witsae Oreum, Jindallae-bat got 25 centimeters, and Eorimok, 15.

A high seas watch was also issued. That is expected to be removed by Friday morning.

Weather experts say it will remain cloudy Friday, with afternoon highs between 8 and 11. The relative chilly temperatures will be with us for a while, though.

오늘 제주지방은 산간에 대설특보가 발효되는 등 곳곳에 눈 또는 비가 내리며 추위가 기승을 부리고 있습니다.

대륙고기압의 영향을 받는 제주지방은 오후들며 눈 또는 비가 그치겠지만 낮 최고기온은
5도에서 8도에 머물며 춥겠습니다.

산간에는 대설주의보가 발효중인 가운데 한라산 윗세오름에 35cm, 진달래밭 25cm, 어리목은 15cm의 적설량을 기록하고 있습니다.

제주도 전해상에도 풍랑특보가 발효중인 가운데 오늘 밤 늦게나 내일 새벽쯤 해제될 것으로 전망됩니다.

내일은 구름 많은 가운데 낮기온은 8도에서 11도로 오늘보다 조금 높겠지만 추위가 이어질 것으로 예보됐습니다.
