Jeju Air jet resumes service
After cabin pressure mishap, vessel deemed airworthy

A Jeju-bound flight which made a sudden descent after experiencing a loss of cabin pressure has returned to service.

Jeju Air 7C101 was found to have had a problem in its cabin air pressure, but investigators say the technical system itself was working correctly.

Following approval by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the vessel resumed regular flights on the evening of December 26th. The decision was made after passing five test flights and several safety checks.

The airplane was en route from Gimpo to Jeju last Wednesday when it
experienced a loss of cabin pressure. The pilots made a sudden descent which caused ear pain and anxiety in passengers.

기내 압력조절이 되지 않아 급히 고도를 낮추는 사고가 발생한
제주항공 여객기가 비행에 복귀했습니다.

제주항공은 국토교통부가 해당 여객기에 대한 운항재개 결정을 내림에 따라 어제(26일) 저녁부터 운항에 투입했다고 밝혔습니다.

국토부는 해당 여객기에 대한 5차례의 시험 비행과
각종 점검을 통해 안전성을 확인하고 운항재개 결정을 내렸다고 설명했습니다.

해당 여객기는 지난 23일 김포를 출발해 제주로 향하는 과정에서
기내압력 조절장치에 이상이 발생해 고도를 급하강하면서 승객들이 불안감과 귀 통증 등을 호소한 바 있습니다.
