Jeju tourism indexes updated
Province will no longer set annual target for arrivals

Authorities have updated tourism indexes and will begin using them next year to gain a better perspective of tourism on the island.

Beginning in 2016, the provincial government will no longer set a target figure for annual arrivals. The tourism indexes will be used instead to gain a more comprehensive outlook on the sector.

Five key measurements will be used: length of stay, average spending per person, tourist satisfaction, type of travel, and an index for marketing diversification.

Spending patterns of tourists will also be analyzed in cooperation with credit card companies.

제주특별자치도는 내년부터 관광객 유치 목표를 별도로 설정하지 않는 대신
질적 성장에 걸맞는 주요 지표를 관리하는 체계로 전환합니다.

특히 관광객 체류일수와 1인당 평균 지출 비용, 관광객 만족도, 여행형태,
마케팅 다변화 지수 등 5대 지표를 중점 관리할 방침입니다.

또 카드사와 제휴를 통해 관광객 소비성향 등을 분석할 예정입니다.
