Competition to become wind power districts grows
Seven candidate areas vie for 2 onshore, 2 offshore wind farms

The Jeju Energy Corporation says a total of seven candidate areas across the island have applied for potential development into wind power districts. The plan is to build four wind farms, two onshore and two offshore.

Three candidate areas are competing to have onshore wind farms built. They are Deoksu-ri, Andeok-myeon;
Daeheul-2-ri (대흘2리) Jocheon-eup;
and Haengwon-ri (행원리) Gujwa-eup.

And the four areas vying to become the sites of offshore wind farms are: Pyeongdae (평대) and Hadong-ri in Gujwa-eup;
Woljeong (월정) and Haengwon-ri (행원리) in Gujwa-eup;
Hado-ri, Gujwa-eup; and the area that covers Pyoseon, Sehwa-2-ri (세화2리) and Hacheon-ri (하천리) in Pyoseon-myeon.

The Jeju Energy Corporation will conduct site inspections and evaluate each area’s economic feasibility before making its final decision at the end of January.


풍력발전 후보지 육상 · 해상 7곳 신청

제주에너지공사가 풍력발전지구 후보지를 공모한 결과
육상 3개 지구, 해상 4개 지구 등 모두 7개지구가 접수됐습니다.

육상풍력 후보지는 안덕면 덕수리와 조천읍 대흘 2리, 구좌읍 행원리 등 3군데이며,

해상풍력 후보지는 구좌읍 평대.한동리와 구좌읍 월정.행원리,
구좌읍 하도리, 표선면 표선.세화2리.하천리 등 4개 지굽니다.

제주에너지공사는 접수된 후보지에 대해 입지 여건 적합여부와 경제성 등의 종합평가를 거쳐 다음달(1월) 말쯤 육상과 해상별로 2군데씩 선정할 예정입니다.
