Visitor checks at Jeju Port to be expedited
Immigration will screen a sample of people in tour groups

Improvements will be made to the slow pace at immigration counters in the cruise terminal of Jeju Port, a process which currently draws complaints from incoming visitors.

The provincial government said Thursday it plans to reduce times at cruise terminal immigration checkpoints by conducting spot security checks on a sampling of individuals in a tourist group. At present every member of a travel group is screened.

Details are reportedly being discussed between Jeju officials and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

Currently all cruise passengers have to go through security inspections but with only four security checkpoints, the cruise terminal at Jeju Port has been prone to delays in the immigration process.
