More in low-income bracket to receive rent assistance
Relaxed criteria mean more qualify for aid

More people in the lower-income bracket this year will receive financial support for their rent payments.

According to the provincial government, a revision to the National Basic Livelihood Security Act has expanded the eligibility criteria for households by four percent. Previously, for a family of four to receive the financial aid, monthly earnings had to be 1.82 million won or less. The revision has increased that cap to 1.89 million won.

The criteria for a family of five to receive the housing aid has gone from 2.15 million won in monthly earnings to 2.24 million.

If selected, a family of four this year will receive 195,000 won a month in rent assistance.

보다 많은 저소득 계층을 수혜를 받게 됐습니다.
이에 따라 4인 가구 주거급여 선정 기준액은 월 소득 182만 원 에서 월 189만 원으로,
5인 가족은 215만원에서 224만 원으로 인상됐습니다. 주거급여 대상자에 선정되면 4인 가구의 경우 매월 19만 5천원의 임차료를 지원받을 수 있습니다.
