‘JDC to push for private-investment schools’
Chairman announces plans for Global Education City in Monday speech

The Jeju Free International City Development Center will push for private investments to be made to open new international schools in the Jeju Global Education City.

JDC Chairman Kim Han-wook said during a New Year’s speech on Monday that the JDC would push ahead with a revised Jeju Special Law that says international schools can send profits earned here back to their respective countries. He also said that plans would be made within the year to open a new private-investment international school.

Kim added that the JDC would make concerted efforts to make sure the American international school currently under construction would be able to open by September this year.
