Garbage bag prices, illegal dumping fines to rise
Officials hope to reduce waste, encourage recycling

Garbage bag prices and fines for illegally trash disposal are both set to go up this year.

The provincial government announced Thursday that it would push to implement those measures within the first half of 2016 after amending relevant laws.

Officials hope that by doing so they will reduce the amount of waste being thrown away and encourage recycling.

Currently, a ten-liter garbage bag costs 180 won, while the illegal disposal of trash is punishable by a fine of between 100,000 and 1 million won.

쓰레기 종량제 수수료와 불법투기 과태료를 인상하는 방안이 추진됩니다.

제주시는 이같은 내용을 담은 조례 개정을 통해 상반기에 안에 추진하겠다고
밝혔습니다.

쓰레기 종량제 수수료와 불법투기 과태료를 인상함으로써 배출량을 줄이고 분리배출 활성화를 도모하자는 취집니다.

현재 쓰레기 종량제 수수료는 10리터에 180원, 불법투기 과태료는 10만원에서
최고 100만원입니다.
