Due to torrential summer rains that caused a rock fall in Yongduam and the main observation trail, the path to the rock was closed for some time. It is now once again open to the public after repairs and safety inspections. Joseph Kim has more.
Access has been restricted in Yongduam after a rock-fall incident occurred due to heavy rains in August of last year. Finally, tourists are once again having a good time walking along the observation trail and taking photos.

From September of last year, Jeju City has been carrying out repairs on the Youngduam trail, investing over 500 million won. Including a rock-fall site where a 70 centimeter rock toppled over, wire mesh made of stainless steel has been installed in 21 dangerous areas.

Alongside the reinforcement work at the rock-fall site, a lighting system has been improved and the observation area is now better illuminated.

Jeju City expects that it will be more convenient for tourists since the observation trail has been widened and hand rails and a lighting system have been installed on the rock-fall area.
