The JDC says if the operator of the Yerae Resort Complex, Berjaya Jeju, is unable to pay back loans due January 20th, the JDC will repay the 107 billion won debt and claim ownership of 85 percent of the commercial land.

Yonhap is reporting that South Korean adults are most concerned about economic problems like inadequate retirement funds, employment, and income. Nearly 37 percent of respondents in a poll by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs said those were the most worrying social issues.

SK presses China to play ‘important role’
South Korea's chief nuclear envoy pressed China on Thursday to play an "important role" in imposing tougher sanctions against North Korea following its latest nuclear test last week. Hwang Joon-kook said Pyongyang should pay a "significant price" for the act.
