Ulsan benchmarks Jeju co-op tourism village
Officials arrived Monday to study site that will open in March

A delegation from Ulsan’s Dong-gu district visited Jeju Monday to benchmark a co-op tourism village in Jocheon-eup that is currently in the final stages of construction.

Visiting officials said they chose the Swiss village in Jocheon as a role model because of its unique operational system, which focuses on creating profits for residents through a cooperative enterprise. Every building in the development houses a store on the first floor, a guesthouse on the second, and a residential area on the third. The residents will be selected after three rounds of interviews.

Officials representing the co-op tourism village in Jocheon-eup themselves benchmarked the Swiss system it’s modeled on. It is slated to open on March 1st.

울산 광역시 동구의회가 제주시 조천읍에 조성중인 '협동조합형 관광마을'인 스위스마을을 방문해 마을만들기와 수익창출 방안을 배웠습니다.

세번 이상의 인터뷰를 통해 자격을 갖춘 조합원을 엄격히 선정한다는 점에서 성공가능성을 높이 평가했습니다.

제주시 조천읍에 조성중인 '협동조합형 관광마을'은 복지국가인 스위스의 협동조합시스템을 도입하고 있으며 오는 3월 1일 개장을 앞두고 있습니다.
