Consignment sales of fish increase in 2015
Amount, value of sales up 5-6%

The provincial government says both the amount and the value of fish sold on consignment increased year-on-year in 2015.

Last year, 430 million tons of fish were sold on consignment through the Jeju branch of Suhyup. That’s six percent more than in 2014. They were sold for around 383 billion won, which is five percent more than a year earlier.

In terms of quantity, yellow corvina saw the biggest rise in consignment sales at 15 percent, followed by sea bream at 5 percent. The amount of hairtail sold dropped by 21 percent.

As for prices, yellow corvina prices were up 66 percent compared to 2014, while sea bream prices posted a 27-percent increase.

지난해 제주지역 수산물 위판실적 증가

지난해 제주지역 수산물 위판량과 위판액이 모두 증가한 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면, 지난해 도내 수협을 통해 판매된 수산물은 4만 3천여 톤에 3천 831억 원으로 지난해 같은 기간보다 위판량은 6%, 위판액은 5% 늘어났습니다.

어종별 위판량을 살펴보면 참조기가 15%, 옥돔이 5% 증가한 반면, 갈치는 21% 줄었습니다.

위판액의 경우 참조기가 66%로 가장 많은 증가율을 보였고,
이어 옥돔 27%, 고등어 등 기타어종 18% 순이었습니다.
