2. Storm causes over \1b in property damage
Total expected to rise in coming days

Provincial authorities say the heavy snow over the weekend caused over one billion won in property damage.

Damage has been reported at seven public and 16 private facilities so far, with the running tally at 1.07 billion won. The public facilities include the landfill in Bonggae-dong and streetlamps across Jeju. Farm greenhouses are among the private property that have been damaged.

Authorities say the figure will likely rise in the coming days as more damage reports are made.

제주지방을 강타한 폭설과 한파로 인한 시설물 피해가
10억 원대에 이르는 것으로 잠정 집계됐습니다.

제주특별자치도는 지금까지 공공시설 7건, 사유시설 16건 등
모두 23건의 피해가 발생했으며 재산피해는 10억 7천여 만원에 이른다고 밝혔습니다.

공공시설에서는 봉개매립장 침출수 저류조 지붕이 붕괴된 것을 비롯해
일부 가로등이 파손됐고, 사유시설의 경우 농작물 비닐하우스 파손이 잇따랐습니다.

이번 집계는 1차적인 신고에 따른 것이어서 앞으로 제설작업이 완료되고 본격적인 조사가 진행되면 피해액은 더 늘어날 것으로 전망되고 있습니다.
