Storm property damage now estimated at over \1.9b
40,000 farmed flatfish died following power outage

Local authorities have almost doubled their initial estimate of property damage caused by the weekend storm to over 1.9 billion won.

The provincial government has added to its count... the dying of 40,000 flatfish at an aquafarm in Gosan-ri, Hangyeong-myeon. The sudden temperature drop cut power to the facility. Some 15 collapsed greenhouses have also been accounted for… on top of the 7 public facilities and 23 private facilities that were already reported to have been damaged by the heavy snowfall.

The province will continue to tally damages incurred and conduct restoration work across the island.

폭설 피해 늘어…피해금액 19억 넘어

폭설과 한파로 인한 시설물 피해가 계속 늘고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 지난 폭설로 한경면 고산리 양식장이 정전되면서 광어 4만 마리가 폐사했고 농작물 비닐하우스 15동이 쌓인 눈에 무너져 내렸습니다.

제주도는 이번 폭설로 지금까지 공공시설 7건, 사유시설 23건 등 모두 30건의 피해가 발생했으며 재산피해액은 19억 원이 넘는다고 밝혔습니다.

제주도는 행정시와 읍면동에서 피해 현황을 추가 조사하고 있고,
정전과 동파 피해에 대한 부분적인 복구작업을 벌이고 있습니다.
