48-strong police team charged with keeping elections clean

The provincial police agency has formed a special team to crack down on illegal activities related to the April 13th legislative elections.

The 48-member group is working around the clock for 80 days, through April 20th. They are tasked with investigating the spread of false rumors and information online and other violations, as well as performing general intelligence-gathering activities.

경찰, 선거 수사상황실 개소…불법 선거 단속

다가오는 4.13 총선을 앞두고 제주지방경찰청이 국회의원 선거 수사상황실을 열고 각종 불법 선거 단속 활동에 들어갔습니다.

수사상황실에는 제주경찰청과 일선 경찰서의 수사전담반 경찰 48명이 편성돼
오는 4월20일까지 80일간 24시간 운영됩니다.

특히 이들은 인터넷을 통한 후보자 비방이나 허위사실 유포 행위에 대한 모니터링을 비롯해
각종 첩보수집과 단속활동을 벌이게 됩니다.
