The period leading up to the Lunar New Year holidays is the busiest time of the year for delivery companies. Shipments are triple the normal volume. Packages need to be registered by February 3rd to guarantee delivery before the national holiday. Joseph Kim has more.

Next to the conveyer belt, there are stacks of parcels waiting to be processed. Boxes are being moved on the busy running conveyer belt. Right after emptying one container, another comes in.

Around 34,000 packages per day
Less than a week ahead of the Lunar New Year’s Day holiday, on average they deal with over 34,000 deliveries. It is 2~3 times more than usual, crunch time for delivery companies.

Since we have three times more packages than usual, we hired over 25 temporary workers and around 20 more delivery trucks to cover the peak season.

Wednesday morning is cutoff for on-time deliveries
Deliveries need to be registered by Wednesday morning at the latest. To prevent accidents, the phone number of the recipient should be written on the box.

Extra caution is needed for those sending fresh food like fish, since delivery service registration for fresh food will be not available from the 2nd to the 5th of February.
