Police open regional investigation unit
14-member group to concentrate on crimes in rural areas

The provincial police agency has opened up a regional investigation unit to deal with serious crimes in rural areas.

The 14-member unit has been divided up into three teams, dealing respectively with violent, organized, and property crimes. They will patrol their designated areas at least twice a week.

The police agency has announced that it formed the rural investigation unit to cover any blind spots outside the city that criminals could take advantage of.

경찰 광역수사대 신설…강력사건 전담

제주지방경찰청이 광역수사대를 신설하고 조직폭력배 범죄 등 각종 강력사건에 적극 대응해 나가기로 했습니다.

14명으로 구성된 광역수사대는 강력범죄와 조직범죄,
민생범죄 등 3개의 팀으로 운영되며 주로 2개 이상 경찰서 관할 구역에서 발생하는 광역성 범죄를 맡게 됩니다.

경찰은 이번 광역수사대의 신설을 통해
각종 범죄에 대한 사각지대를 없애고
강력사건 예방에 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
