19th Jeju Fire Festival begins March 3

The 19th Jeju Fire Festival will begin on March 3rd at Saebyeol Oreum in Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju City.

The theme of the annual festival this year is: “May the flames of hope spread throughout the world.” A total of 68 different programs are lined up for the four-day event.

The highlight of the festival will be the burning of the oreum itself, which will be done by setting one giant and 43 smaller “daljip” alight. A ‘daljip’ is temporary straw structure of sorts.

The province has announced it will provide shuttle buses and expand the entrance to the oreum by one extra lane in an aim to reduce traffic congestion.

제19회 제주들불축제가 다음달 3일부터 나흘간
제주시 애월읍 봉성리 새별오름 일대에서 열립니다.

'들불의 희망, 세계로 번지다'를 주제로 열리는 이번 들불축제는
매일 주제마당을 마련해 모두 68개 프로그램으로 진행됩니다.

특히 초대형 지구형 달집과 오름 전체에 43개의 달집을 설치해
불놓기와 오름정상 화산분출쇼를 다채롭게 연출하게 됩니다.

제주시는 교통체증을 해소하기 위해 셔틀버스 운영을 확대하고
진출입도로를 기존 2차선에서 3차선으로 확장했습니다.
