New support team for civilian-military port
Group charged with preparing way for cruise ship operations

The civilian-military port in Gangjeong is gearing up to begin accommodating passenger cruise ships in July 2017, and a special support team has been formed to ensure preparations run smoothly.

The provincial government launched the team Thursday.

The director of Jeju’s maritime affairs and fisheries bureau is at the head of the group. It will be in charge of operating the control center, establishing berthing facilities, and negotiating with related organizations to develop the site.

민군복합형관광미항의 원활한 개항준비를 위해 실무지원팀이 구성됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 내년 7월부터 민군복합형 관광미항에
크루즈선이 기항될 수 있도록 내일(18일)부터 기항 때까지
한시적으로 실무지원팀을 운영합니다.

팀장은 해양수산국장이 맡게되며,
크루즈부두 계류시설 등 각종 운영지원시설 설치와
관제 시설 등 유관기관과의 업무 협의를 추진할 예정입니다.
