Jeju service sector productivity rises most in country in 4Q
Up 6.7%; national average was 2.9%

The productivity of Jeju’s service sector grew at the fastest pace in the nation last quarter.

According to the latest report by Statistics Korea, the productivity rate for the service sector in Jeju grew 6.7 percent in the final three months of 2015, compared to the same quarter a year prior. That’s two times higher than the national average growth rate of 2.9 percent. It is also the single highest growth rate on record since the statistical office began compiling the data in 2011.

The office attributed the rise to the large number of Chinese tourists and Chinese real estate investors in Jeju.

통계청에 따르면 지난해 4분기 도내 서비스업 생산지수는 139로
전년 같은 기간보다 6.7퍼센트 증가했습니다.

이같은 증가율은 전국평균 2.9퍼센트보다 두배 정도 높고
통계가 작성되기 시작한 2011년 이후 최고치입니다.

통계청은 중국인 관광객의 소비와 부동산, 임대업 등이
서비스업 생산 증가세를 주도한 것으로 분석하고 있습니다.
