Opening ceremony Friday for civilian-military port
Prime minister, defense minister, governor to be among attendees

An opening ceremony will be held Friday at the Jeju Civilian-Military Complex Port, six years after construction began at the site.

Prime Minister Hwang Gyo-an, Defense Minister Han Min-gu, Navy Admiral (정호섭) Chung Ho-seop, and Jeju Governor Won Heeryong will attend the ceremony.

Work on the dual-use port began in 2010. It is capable of simultaneously accommodating up to 20 combat vessels and two 150,000-ton cruise ships.

제주 민군복합형 관광미항이 공사에 착수한 지 6년 여만에
준공식을 갖고 본격 운영에 들어갑니다.

준공식은 모레(26일) 황교안 국무총리와 한민구 국방부 장관, 정호섭 해군참모총장과
원희룡 제주지사 등이 참석한 가운데 진행될 예정입니다.

제주민군복합형 관광미항은 우리나라 남방 해상 교통로 보호와 해양 주권 수호를 위해 지난 2010년 착공됐으며, 최신예 구축함과 잠수함 등 군함 20여 척과
15만 톤급 크루즈 선박 두 척이
동시에 계류할 수 있도록 조성됐습니다.
