Ora Tourism Complex passes landscape assessment

A planned massive tourism complex in Ora-dong has passed a provincial landscape review.

This was the second attempt by JCC, a firm based in the British Virgin Islands, to get the plan passed. Jeju officials held a meeting to discuss the matter on Friday. After deliberating for five hours, they gave the Ora Tourism Complex development plan the green light, on the condition that it passes an environmental impact assessment and an assessment of how it would affect the urban environment.

The Ora Tourism Complex is projected to span over 3.5 million square meters and cost around 6 trillion won to build. It entails the construction of accommodations as well as commercial, resort, culture, and health facilities.

두번 째 도전만에 제주도 경관심의를 통과했습니다.

제주특별자치도는 오늘(26일) 오후 경관심의위원회를 열고
5시간의 회의 끝에 JCC 측에서 제출한
오라관광단지 경관심의안을 조건부로 가결했습니다.

경관심의를 통과한 오라관광단지 사업은
앞으로 환경영향평가와 도시계획 건축교통에 대한 심의를 남겨놓게 됐습니다.

제주오라관광단지는 354만제곱미터부지에 사업비 6조원을 투입해
관광숙박시설과 상업시설 휴양문화시설 체육시설 조성 등을 계획하고 있습니다.
