Jeju City preparing for population of 500,000
City expected to hit milestone in 2018

Five hundred thousand people are expected to call Jeju City home by the year 2018, so city officials plan to create a list of strategies to meet the needs of the area’s growing population.

A task force consisting of public officials and experts will devise five key policies in the areas of urban housing, traffic and parking, the environment, the local economy, and culture and tourism.

They will analyze and compare the policies of other cities across Korea that have a population of over 500,000… and cross-reference those measures with the infrastructure in place here.

제주시가 인구 50만 시대를 대비한 미래전략을 수립합니다.

이를 위해 공무원과 관계전문가로 태스크포스팀을 구성하고
올 상반기중에 도시주거와 교통주차, 청정환경,
지역경제, 문화관광 등 5대 분야에 대한 핵심정책을 마련합니다.

특히 인구 50만 이상의 국내 다른 도시에 대한 도시기반지표를 비교분석하고
인프라를 재점검한 후 미래전략수립에 반영한다는 계획입니다.
