Wildfire alert issued
Weather conditions in March and April are a concern

The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters has issued a wildfire alert on the back of recent dry weather conditions and strong winds.

Wildfire prevention measures have been broadcast over loudspeakers in villages across the island, and fire stations and related organizations say they will strengthen safety management.

Jeju has had 763 wildfires over the past three years. Thirty percent of those fires occurred in March and April.

들불 안전사고 주의보 발령

제주도소방안전본부는
건조하고 바람이 많이 부는 봄철을 맞아 들불 안전사고 주의보를 발령합니다.

이에 따라 각 마을의 방송을 이용해 들불예방 홍보활동을 벌이는 한편
소방서와 유관기관이 연계한
각종 안전관리를 강화하기로 했습니다.

한편 최근 3년동안 제주에서 발생한 들불은 모두 763건으로
이 가운데 30% 가량이 3월과 4월에 집중해서 발생했습니다.
