Jeju cherry blossoms to start blooming around March 20
Earlier than average this year

Jeju cherry blossoms are expected to start blooming around March 20th in Seogwipo, which is four or five days earlier than average.

Private weather agency Kweather says last month’s relatively high average temperatures mean the flowers will open earlier than usual.

After blooming first in Seogwipo on the 20th, cherry blossoms will open in the south of the peninsula between March 24th and the 31st. The wave of flowers will then hit central regions of the nation in early April, with the remainder set to open after April tenth.

Cherry blossoms hit their peak a week after opening, which will be around March 27th here on the island.

민간기상업체인 케이웨더는 올해 2월은 전국 평균기온이 평년보다 높았고 남은 3월 기온도 평년보다 높을 것으로 예상돼
올해 벚꽃개화는 평년보다 빠를 것이라고 예측했습니다.

벚꽃은 오는 20일 제주 서귀포를 시작으로 남부는 24일에서 31일, 중부는 4월 초순,
그밖에 지역은 4월 10일 이후 개화할 것으로 보입니다.

만개 시기는 개화 후 1주일 뒤로 제주는 3월 27일 만개할 것으로 예상됩니다.
