Foreign tourists spend much more

Domestic tourists to Jeju tend to stay on the island for an average 5 days, while non-Korean visitors stay an average of 4.5 days.

A new report by the Jeju Tourism Organization is based on the study of some 6,900 tourists who visited the island between June and December last year. The precise average length of stay for Korean tourists was 5.08 days, while for non-Koreans it was 4.45 days.

While Korean travelers spent an average 570,000 won during their stay, foreigners spent over three-times that amount: roughly 1.83 million won.

The report also showed that the biggest obstacles faced by foreign travelers to Jeju were high prices and the language barrier.

제주 체류기간은 내국인 관광객은 평균 5.08일,
외국인 관광객은 4.45일로 조사됐습니다.

제주에 머무르는 동안 내국인 관광객은 평균 57만 원,
외국인은 183만 원을 지출한 것으로 나타났습니다.

관광객들은 제주의 높은 물가와
언어소통 문제를 불편사항으로 꼽았습니다.
