Fisheries ministry to spend \5b on aquafarms in Jeju
Plans include eco-friendly facilities for shrimp, aquarium fish

The national government will invest billions of won in building environmentally-friendly aquafarms in Jeju.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has announced it will spend five billion won on the project, which is designed to meet growing demand in various sectors.

Three billion won will be used to develop high-value aquarium fish, one billion will be used for eco-friendly facilities to cultivate shrimp, and the remaining one billion won will go into building inland fish farms that use zero antibiotics.

제주지역에 친환경 양식 육성사업이 추진됩니다.

해양수산부는 올해 제주지역에 예산 50억 원을 투입해
최근 관심이 커지고 있는 관상어 분야와
친환경 수산물 양식 육성 강화를 위한
기반시설을 갖추기로 했습니다.

이에 따라 고부가 해수관상생물 개발공급 시설에 30억 원,
친환경 새우양식 시설 10억 원,
육상양식장 항생제 제로양식 시설 10억 원 등이 투입됩니다.
