Jeju has nation’s highest employment rate
Working conditions remain poor

Jeju continues to have the country’s highest employment rate, according to newly released figures, but much of the workforce consists of temporary workers.

According to the Honam (호남) Regional Statistics Office, the employment rate here in February was 67.5 percent… the highest in Korea. But the proportion of day laborers in Jeju increased 21 percent compared to last year. That same figure dropped elsewhere in the nation.

The proportion of workers working less than 36 hours a week also moved up 24 percent on-year… around 3 percent more than the national average.

전국에서 가장 높습니다.

하지만 일용직 근로자가 지난해보다 21퍼센트 증가하며
전국적으로 감소하는 것과는 대조를 보이고 있습니다.

또 주당 근무시간이 36시간 미만 근로자 역시
지난해보다 24퍼센트 증가하며
전국 평균 3퍼센트를 크게 웃도는 것으로 나타났습니다.
