New agreement to deal with mass flight cancellations
Airport officials prepare for emergencies like January’s heavy snow

As part of preparations for mass flight cancellations, like those earlier this year due to heavy snow, Jeju International Airport administrators have signed an agreement with the Jeju Regional Aviation Administration and the Jeju branch of the Korea Airports Corporation.

The three organizations have agreed to work closely to get airport operations back on track as soon as possible and deal with passenger inconveniences that arise from mass flight cancellations due to natural disasters such as typhoons and heavy snow.

The organizations have also agreed to use a four-level system to categorize and respond to emergency situations.

내일(17일) 오전 제주도청에서
항공기 결항 사태에 대비한 업무 협약을 체결합니다.

이번 업무 협약으로 세 기관은
태풍이나 폭설 등 기상이변으로
항공기가 지연되거나 결항될 경우,
공항체류객에 대한
불편해소와 공항 정상화 등을 위해
상호 유기적인 업무 협력 체계를 구축하게 됩니다.

특히 비상상황을
관심과 주의, 경계, 심각 등 4단계로 분류해
상황에 따른 기관별 대응 전략을
함께 강구할 계획입니다.
