Chartered flights for Japanese tourists off to strong start
300+ Jeju-bound passengers in March

As part of efforts to attract more Japanese tourists to the island, there are now chartered flights between Japan and Jeju, and in March alone, hundreds of people used them to vacation here.

Two chartered flights were available, one from Osaka and the other from Nigata. The Jeju Tourism Organization says more than 300 people used them to come to the island.

Several more flights from Nigata are scheduled for May and later in the fall.

JTO officials say they will continue working on strategies to bring more Japanese tourists to Jeju.

전세기 이용 日 관광객 유치 성과

전세기를 이용한 일본인 관광객 유치 활동이 성과를 거두고 있습니다.

제주관광공사는 3월 춘분연휴를 맞아 일본 오사카와 니가타 지역에서
두 편의 전세기를 이용한 일본인 관광객 300여 명을 유치했다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 일본 니가타 지역에서는 5월과 가을에도 제주에 전세기를 띄울 예정이어서
지속적인 전세기 취항이 기대됩니다.

제주관광공사는 이번 전세기 취항을 발판으로 접근성을 높이기 위한 방안을 마련해 나갈 계획입니다.
