Electric buses to run on intercity routes from May
23 to be in operation by end of year

Electric buses are set to run on intercity routes in Jeju beginning in May.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy says bus operator Dongseo Traffic plans to gradually introduce a total of 23 electric buses by the end of the year.

They will be the country’s first intercity electric buses. As part of the government’s initiative to boost the electric vehicle industry, additional charging stations will be built that incorporate battery exchange systems.

5월부터 시내버스 노선에 전기버스 운행

이르면 5월부터 제주지역에 전기버스가 운행됩니다.

산업통상자원부에 따르면 버스 운송업체인 동서교통은
5월부터 연말까지 총 23대의 전기버스를 순차 투입해 운행할 예정입니다.

전기버스가 시내버스 노선에 투입되는 것은
전국에서 처음으로 정부는 전기버스 활성화를 위해 배터리 교환시스템을 갖춘
충전인프라도 함께 조성할 계획입니다.
