Jeju’s livestock products are now being exported to more regions in Asia.

According to the provincial government, Jeju pork was recently shipped to Thailand for the first time, making it the fourth export destination in Asia after mainland China, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.

Officials say the accomplishment shows that Jeju’s livestock products are gaining more recognition in the Asian market. Plans are reportedly being made to expand the type of shipments to include local beef, chicken, and eggs.

청정 제주산 축산물이 아시아 시장에서 좋은 반응을 보이고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 최근 제주도내 모 축산물 가공업체가
처음으로 태국에 제주산 돼지고기 부산물을 수출하는 성과를 거뒀습니다.

이에 따라 제주산 축산물을 수출하는 국가는
중국과 베트남, 홍콩에 이어 태국 등 4개국으로 늘어나게 됐습니다.

제주도는 아시아 시장에서 청정 제주산 축산물이 인정을 받고 있다며
현재 돼지고기에 한정된 수출품목을 쇠고기와 닭고기,
계란으로 확대하는 방안을 추진하고 있습니다.
