Ballot design unveiled
‘Laid out to prevent unintentional marking’

The Jeju Election Commission has unveiled the design of the ballots that will be used in the upcoming legislative elections.

Each box with a candidate’s name has been spaced out to make it easier for the voter to mark... and to prevent unintentionally checking two boxes when marking close to the margins. Any ballot that has two boxes checked will be deemed intentionally spoiled and nullified.

Meanwhile, 21 parties are fielding candidates in the elections, the most ever. The ballots are therefore 33.5 centimeters wide… around twice the normal width.

제주특별자치도선거관리위원회가
제20대 국회의원 선거에 따른 투표용지 모형을 공고했습니다.

이번 선거부터는 유권자의 기표 편의와 무효표 방지를 위해
후보자란 사이에 여백을 뒀습니다.

이에 따라 두 개의 후보자란에 걸쳐 기표할 경우 무효 처리됩니다.

한편 비례대표 국회의원 투표용지에
표기된 정당은 21개로 역대 최다이며
길이가 33.5센티미터로 일반 투표용지의 2배에 이르고 있습니다.
