More security staff, equipment at Jeju Port cruise terminal
Passenger screening time cut by 30 minutes

Jeju Port officials have boosted the number of security checkpoint staff and equipment in an effort to speed up the arrivals process.

The port recently added two more x-ray screening devices to the existing four,,, and increased the number of staff at security checkpoints from 18 to 30.

That has reduced the average time to process 3,000 cruise passengers from one hour 40 minutes to one hour 10 minutes.

Officials hope to reduce that waiting time even more once a new arrivals terminal opens in the second half of next year.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 최근 제주항 국제여객터미널에 보안검색 엑스레이 장비를
기존 4대에서 6대로 추가 설치하고
인력도 18명에서 30명으로 증원했습니다.

이에 따라 기존 3천명을 기준으로
1시간 40분 소요되던 출국수속 시간이 1시간 10분대로 줄어들게 됐습니다.

제주도는 내년 하반기에 입국장이 추가 설치되면
입국장과 출국장의 동선이 완전 분리돼
시간을 추가 단축할 수 있을 것으로 예상하고 있습니다.
