Main opposition Minjoo Party wins all three Jeju seats
Kang Chang-il wins fourth consecutive term

The main opposition Minjoo Party won all three seats up for grabs in Jeju in the 20th legislative elections on Wednesday.

In Jeju District A, Minjoo Party candidate Kang Chang-il won a local record-breaking fourth consecutive term when he beat Saenuri candidate Yang Chi-seok.

In Jeju District B, it was a neck-and-neck race between Minjoo candidate Oh Young-hoon and the Saenuri Party’s Bu Sang-il… but Oh eventually prevailed.

In Seogwipo, Minjoo’s first-time candidate Wi Seong-gon secured a seat in the National Assembly by beating Saenuri’s candidate Kang Ji-yong.

더민주 강창일·오영훈·위성곤 당선


제20대 총선에서 제주지역 선거구 3곳 모두 더불어민주당 후보들이 승리했습니다.

제주시갑선거구는 더불어민주당 강창일 후보가 새누리당 양치석 후보를 누르고 지난 17대에 이어 이번 20대까지 제주지역 정치사상 최초로 연속 4선 국회 입성에 성공했습니다.

제주시을선거구는 더불어민주당 오영훈 후보가 새누리당 부상일 후보와 막판까지 가는 접전 끝에 역전 승리를 거두며 최종 당선됐습니다.

서귀포시선거구는 더불어민주당 위성곤 후보가 새누리당 강지용 후보를 꺾고 첫 국회 입성에 성공했습니다.

더불어민주당은 지난 17대에 이어 20대 총선까지 제주지역 선거구 세 곳을 모두 싹쓸이 하는 저력을 발휘했습니다.
