Dusting of snow on Hallasan
Rare April snowfall

In a relatively rare scene for the month of April, a dusting of snow covered the peak of Hallasan Mountain Monday.

One centimeter of the white stuff accumulated around the Baengnokdam crater lake and Witse Oreum, where, in the early hours of the day, the mercury fell to an unseasonably chilly 0.3 degrees Celsius.

This is the fourth time snow has fallen on the mountain in the month of April since 2010.

한라산 정상 1cm적설...4월 설경 장관

봄기운이 완연한 4월 중순
한라산 정상부근을 중심으로 눈이 쌓이는 보기 드문 광경이 펼쳐졌습니다.

오늘 오전 한라산 백록담과 윗세오름 등에 1cm의 눈이
내려 쌓였습니다.

특히 한라산 윗세오름의 아침 최저기온이 영하 0.3도를 기록하며
4월 중순, 때아닌 겨울날씨를 보였습니다.

한편, 2010년 이후 4월을 기준으로 한라산에 눈이 내린 것은
지난 2013년과 지난해에 이어 네번째입니다.
