Governor calls for bipartisanship
Won urges newly-elected national lawmakers to work for benefit of island

The governor says bipartisan cooperation is crucial in the wake of the recent legislative elections.

Referring to Jeju’s three newly-elected National Assembly representatives, who all hail from the main opposition Minjoo Party, Governor Won Heeryong called for the establishment of a cooperative system that would enable both ruling and opposition parties to work together to map out policies for Jeju.

Won also urged lawmakers to reflect the will of the people, as demonstrated through election results, in their policy-making decisions. He asked that they focus on stabilizing housing prices and creating jobs on the island.

특히 정책협의회를 정례화하던지 수시로 협력할 수 있는
협력체계를 구체적으로 구축할 것을 당부했습니다.

그러면서 이번 선거에 담긴 도민의 뜻을
다방면으로 심사숙고하면서 반영해 나가고
무엇보다 땅값과 집값의 안정화,
일자리 창출에 집중해 줄 것을 강조했습니다.
