JNU to establish UN-affiliated climate center
University signs agreement with World Meteorological Organization

Jeju National University plans to establish a United Nations climate and maritime education center.

JNU officials announced Tuesday that they had signed a memorandum of understanding to that effect with the World Meteorological Organization. The facility will be used to train government officials, weather experts, and NGO representatives from developing countries, including Southeast Asian nations.

University representatives will visit WMO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland in June to discuss details of the establishment.

제주대는 세계기상기구와 기상과 기후변화에 대한
국제적인 유엔교육센터 설립을 위한 양해각서를
체결했다고 밝혔습니다.

두 기관은 앞으로 동남아를 비롯한
개발도상국의 기상 관련 정부 관료와 전문가 등을 초청해
기상과 해양 재난방재 관련 전문가 교육을 시킬 예정입니다.
