Hallasan Gosari Festival begins Saturday in Namwon
Bracken fern is popular ingredient in many dishes

Bracken fern, called “gosari” in Korean, is a popular ingredient in many local dishes, and the 21st Hallasan Gosari Festival is this weekend in Namwon-eup, Seogwipo.

Festival-goers will be able to pick wild bracken ferns, cook with them, take nature walks, and enjoy other activities.

The annual festival will also include a gosari photo exhibition, musical performances, and other events.

Proceeds from the sideline events will be donated to to the Community Chest of Korea.

23일, 남원읍서 고사리축제 개막

제21회 한라산 청정고사리 축제가
오는 23일 서귀포시 남원읍 한남리
국가태풍센터 서쪽 일대에서 개막해
이틀 동안 열립니다.

'생명이 움트는 남원읍, 몽클락헌 고사리와 함께'를
주제로 열리는 이번 축제는 고사리 꺾기를 비롯해 고사리 음식 만들기,
고사리길 걷기 등 다양한 체험행사를 마련하고 있습니다.

또한 고사리 생태 체험관, 사진 전시회,
노래 공연 등 부대행사도 다채롭게 진행될 예정입니다.

남원읍 축제위원회는 체험 프로그램에 체험료를 걷어
사회복지공동모금회에 기부해
나눔 축제로 만들어간다는 계획입니다.
