First shipment of this year’s greenhouse mandarins

Growers have begun shipping this year's crop of greenhouse mandarin oranges.

The Jeju branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation reports that a farm in (남원) Namwon was the first to ship fruit to market.

One kilogram of the citrus is selling for over 13,000 won, which is about 30 percent more than last year.

Shipments began earlier than usual this year. The majority of mandarin farms expect to begin shipping around mid-May.

도매시장에서 거래된 하우스 감귤 평균가격은
킬로그램 당 1만 3천 원 대로
지난해보다 30퍼센드 정도 높게 형성되고 있습니다.

올해 하우스 감귤 수확은 평년보다 빠른 것으로,
다음달 중순쯤 본격적으로 출하될 전망입니다.
