Seogwipo to review use of public property
Follows KCTV coverage of problems

Following KCTV’s recent special coverage of problems relating to public property in Seogwipo, the city says it will review the management of the properties in question.

City officials will focus on looking for any private property illegally built on public land… as well as examining the usage of public property that it has leased out to residents.

Inspectors will be looking at 42,000 plots of public land, some 600 buildings, and 470 plots of leased land.

The city will impose fines for any public property that is being used privately. If any leased property is found being used for private purposes, the contract will be voided and the property will be restored to its original state.

서귀포시가 관리 실태 점검에 나섭니다.

서귀포시는 공유재산의 필지별 무단점유 실태와
불법시설물 설치, 대부 재산의 적정 사용 여부를
오는 10월까지 조사하기로 했습니다.

조사는 서귀포지역 내 공유재산 토지 4만 2천여 필지와
건물 600여 동, 그리고 대부된 470여 필지를 대상으로 이뤄집니다.

서귀포시는 불법 사용한 재산에 대해서는 변상금을 부과하고
대부 재산에 대해서도 사익을 취하는 사례가 적발될 경우
계약 해지와 원상복구에 나선다는 계획입니다.
