KCTV issues booklet on Jeju stone walls
Island’s batdam highlighted in collected reports

KCTV has published a booklet on Jeju’s iconic stone walls, which are known as batdam.

The booklet consists of three chapters. The first deals with the history and types of batdam, as well as the academic value of the island’s stone walls.

The second chapter includes written excerpts from a special KCTV documentary titled ‘Stone Walls: The History of their Existence,’ and includes excerpts from numerous interviews.

The third chapter lists news articles and photos from the 1st Batdam Festival that was held last year.

The booklet was put together to shed light on Jeju’s stone culture and is expected to be used as educational material in the future.

KCTV제주방송이 세계중요농업유산에 지정된 제주밭담을 소재로
제주의 돌문화를 정리한 '삶 그리고 밭담' 책자를 발간했습니다.

총 3장으로 구성된 이 책에는 본문 1장에서 제주 밭담의 역사와 유형,
그리고 밭담의 학술적 가치 등을 조명했고

2장은 KCTV 제주방송의 특별기획 다큐멘터리 '돌담 그 생존의 역사' 원고와 인터뷰 등이 실려 있습니다.

3장은 제주 밭담 관련 기획뉴스 기사와 지난해 개최된 제1회 밭담축제 사진 자료도 수록돼 있습니다.

이번 책자는 제주 밭담에 대한 도민 관심을 불러일으키고 제주 돌 문화를 재조명 하는 역사 교육 자료로 활용 가치가 높을 것으로 기대됩니다.
