Five days of disaster preparedness drills begin Monday
Public and private sectors to participate in exercises

In related news, authorities will conduct disaster preparedness drills from May 16th to the 20th.

The drills will be based on Korea’s National Response Framework. Both public and private organizations will participate in the training.

The exercises will focus on responding to typhoons and other natural disasters that are more likely to affect the island.

These drills are held annually across the nation. They were extended from four to five days last year.

재난대응 안전한국훈련 16~20일 실시

재난 총력대응태세를 확립하기 위한 안전한국 훈련이 오는 16일부터 20일까지 닷새동안 실시됩니다.

제주도는 이번 훈련 기간 국가재난대응체계 가동상황을 점검하고 유관기관과 민간지원 단체 등의 참여를 통해 현장중심의 대응실행기반을 다집니다.

특히, 태풍 대응 재난대비 훈련 등 제주지역 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 안전 훈련을 추진합니다.

한편, 재난대응 안전한국훈련은 재난 안전관리 기본법에 의거해 실시하는
범국가적 종합훈련으로 지난해부터는 현장훈련 강화를 위해 기간이 나흘에서 닷새로 늘어났습니다.
