530 ‘Happy Housing’ units in Jeju Science Park by 2018
Rent to be 40% below market prices

The government will build more than 500 so-called “Happy Housing” units in the Jeju Science Park by 2018.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport says it chose the plot of land owned by the Jeju Free International City Development Center to build the public rentals.

530 units will be built.

They will be specifically targeted at young people who are new to the workforce, newlyweds, university students, and employees of companies within the Jeju Science Park. Rent will be around 40 percent below market prices, and tenants may live in the homes for up to 20 years.

제주첨단과학기술단지에 행복주택이 건립됩니다.

국토교통부는 제주지역 행복주택 후보지로
제주첨단과학기술단지안에 있는 JDC 보유부지을
선정했다고 밝혔습니다.

이에 따라 JDC는 오는 2018년 입주를 목표로
530 세대의 행복주택을 건립하기로 하고 기본계획을 수립하고 있습니다.

행복주택은 사회초년생과 신혼부부, 대학생, 산업단지 근로자 등을 위한 공공임대주택이며, 주변 시세보다 최고 40% 저렴한 임대료로 최장 20년까지 거주할 수 있습니다.
