Arrest warrant issued for murder of Chinese woman
34-year-old Chinese man suspected of crime

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a 34-year-old Chinese man for the murder of a Chinese woman, whose remains were discovered in Jeju last month.

Jeju District Court Judge Kim Jeong-min says the warrant was issued due to the serious nature of the case and the possibility the suspect, surnamed “Shi,” may attempt to flee.

Police say the suspect and the victim went for a drive in his car in December. The man allegedly stabbed the woman to death in the car following an argument. Police say he then disposed of the body.

Investigators allege the suspect then withdrew around 6 million won from the woman’s bank account and spent almost all of the money on gambling and entertainment.

The police this week will conduct further investigations this week of the site where the victim’s body was discovered in Donggwang-ri and the site of the suspected murder in Oedo-dong.

중국 여성 살해범 구속영장 발부

중국인 여성을 살해하고 시신을 유기한 혐의를 받고 있는 중국인 남성 34살 쉬 모 씨에 대한 구속영장이 발부됐습니다.

제주지방법원 김정민 영장전담판사는 '사안이 중하고 도주 우려가 있다'며 쉬 씨에 대해 구속영장을 발부했습니다.

쉬 씨는 지난해말 자신의 승용차에서 중국인 여성을 흉기로 찔러 살해하고 시신을 야산에 유기한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

또 피해여성의 계좌에서 600여만 원을 인출해 대부분을 도박과 유흥비에 쓴 혐의도 받고 있습니다.
경찰은 내일 시신이 발견된 동광리 임야와 살해장소인 외도동 일대에서 현장검증을 실시할 예정입니다.
