20 local high school graduates will be chosen for the program, which features a wide range of scholarship opportunities.
Applicants can choose between the Capital Normal University, the Beijing University of Technology, or the Beijing Technology and Business University. These three are among the top 200 of China’s more than 2,000 post-secondary institutions.
The tuition fee for the department of humanities at all three schools is approximately 2,000 yuan, or 5 million won.
Those who are chosen by Jeju’s education office are eligible for scholarships that cover up to one year’s tuition.
For the second year, scholarship amounts will depend on attendance and grades.

"저희가 추천한 학생에게는 1년간 장학혜택이 주어집니다. 어학연수가 필요한 학생은 어학연수를 받을 수 있고 바로 본과에서 공부하고 싶은 학생은 자기 전공을 살려서 공부할 수 있고.. "
With the Beijing program now in place, the Jeju POE announced that it is in talks with Shanghai about a similar program.
Also on the slate are exchange programs with Japan and Hong Kong.

Moving forward, we’re looking to make other agreements in Asia, like in Japan and Hong Kong, so our students will be able to study there, as well.
