Governor officially asks Navy to withdraw indemnity claim
Won urges Navy not to seek compensation from base opponents

Governor Won Heeryong has officially asked the Navy to cease seeking compensation from residents who opposed its new base in the village of Gangjeong.

According to the provincial government, Governor Won delivered an official document to the Navy last week requesting that it withdraw its claim for damages relating to the Civilian-Military Complex Port.

Won reportedly argued that doing so would go a long way toward, as he said, “relieving the pain” of the villagers, and that it would help unite the nation.

손해배상 청구소송 철회 건의 공문을 해군에 보냈습니다.

주민들이 소송을 비롯한 사법적 제재로 인한 고통에서 벗어난다면
대통합의 큰 밀알이 될 수 있다며 소송 철회를 요청했습니다
