Foreigners continue buying local land
Chinese possess 44% of land owned by non-Koreans

Non-Koreans are buying more local land.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport says that, as of the end of 2015, just over 20 million square meters of land in Jeju was owned by non-Koreans. That’s 32 percent more than a year earlier.

In 2014, non-citizens owned 0.85 percent of all island land. A year later, they controlled 1.1 percent.

Chinese owned 9.1 million square meters ? 44.4 percent of all foreign-owned land. Americans had bought some 3.6 million square meters, and Japanese owned 2.4 million square meters of local land.

제주지역에서 외국인이 소유한 토지 면적이 전년보다 크게 늘었습니다.

국토교통부에 따르면 지난해 말 기준 제주지역 외국인 소유 토지 면적은
2천 59만 제곱미터로 2014년보다 32% 증가했습니다.

제주도 전체 면적대비 외국인 소유 토지 면적 비율도 2014년 0.85%에서 지난해 1.1%로 늘었습니다.

국적별로는 중국이 전체 44.4%인 914만 제곱미터로 가장 많은 땅을 소유했고
미국이 368만 제곱미터로 2위, 일본은 241만 제곱미터를 소유한 것으로 조사됐습니다.
