Private museums to be evaluated
66 to be assessed on 50 criteria

Inspectors will begin evaluating the island’s private museums this year and certify those that receive high scores.

The provincial government says its evaluations are designed to prevent overdevelopment in the sector.

Jeju’s 66 private museums will be evaluated biannually starting in the second half of this year. Officials will be scoring them on 50 criteria, including facility management, program operations, and social contributions.

Museums that receive high marks will receive a certification mark and become eligible to take part in various public projects.

제주특별자치도는 유사 박물관의 난립을 막기 위해
제주도내 66개 사립 박물관과 미술관을 대상으로
올해 하반기부터 평가 인증제를 시행합니다.

항목은 시설관리와 프로그램 운영,
지역 공헌도 등 모두 50여 개 지표로
평가는 격년제로 실시됩니다.

평가 결과 지표별 일정 기준이 충족되면
인증 마크 부착과 함께
각종 공모 사업 참여 자격도 주어집니다.
