Construction businesses thriving in Jeju
Number and value of new projects surge in 2016

The construction industry is thriving in Jeju.

According to the Construction Association of Koreal, Jeju’s 280 or so construction companies had taken on 208 new projects this year by the end of April. That’s 32 percent more than during the same period last year.

The value of those projects also skyrocketed 67 percent to 552 billion won.

Public sector construction increased 73 percent, while private sector work rose 66 percent.

대한건설협회 제주도회에 따르면 올들어
지난달까지 도내 280여 개 종합건설회사가
신규 도급한 공사는 208건으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 32% 증가했습니다.

신규도급 수주액도 5천 520억 원으로
지난해보다 67% 늘었습니다.

부문별로 보면 공공부문 건설 수주액이 73%,
민간부문은 66% 증가했습니다.
